Since 1878, American presidents and their families have celebrated Easter Monday by hosting an "egg roll" party. Held on the South Lawn, it is one of the oldest annual events in White House history.              The origin of the English word Easter,

which is similar to the German word

Ostern, remains uncertain. One theory

put forth by the Venerable Bede in the

8th century, suggests that it may have

originated from Eostre, the Anglo-Saxon

goddess associated with spring and

fertility. This theory, like the one that

links the celebration of Christmas on

December 25 to pagan winter solstice

festivities, implies that Christians may

have adopted pagan names and

customs for their own important

celebrations. However, considering thestrong opposition of Christians towards

all aspects of paganism, this

assumption seems doubtful.

Most experts now agree that the word Easter actually comes from the Cristian practice 

Christian practice of referring to the

veek of Easter as "in albis," a Latin term

interpreted as the plural form of "alba'

(meaning "dawn"). This term evolved

into "eostarum" in Old High German

eventually leading to the modern

German and English terms for Easter.

Additionally, the Latin and Greek word

'Pascha" (meaning "Passover") formsthe basis for the French term "Pâques.

My home uses Treatlife smart light switches for most of the rooms upstairs, but one of the light switch electrical boxes has only two wires so I couldn't connect a smart dimmer switch. Instead of trying to feed new wires into my walls, I decided to use a conventional light switch and add a smart bulb or two in order to allow home automation lighting for that room

. And if you are going that route, might as well use color LED bulbs so you can have some fun! Installation is of course easy, just a matter of screwing in the light bulb. Then to pair it with the network I went into the ubiquitous Smart Life app, hit the + button, and chose Auto Scan. Then I turned the light switch on and off three times and after a pause the light bulb flashed a few times. This means it is in discovery mode.

I just got this Samsung Galaxy Tab A9+ 11 inch model. I ordered an IPAD 5th generation from Amazon to see which I would like. The Tab A9+ 11-inch model appears to be a clear winner. I previously had an 8-inch Galaxy Tab7 lite which was about 8 inches. This new Tabsa9 plus is 11 inches, so about 1.5 inches longer and wider. For ereaders (I use LIBBY) it is a bit big, but slender and can still fit on the top of treadmill ledges and is a decent size for airplane travel. The new tablet is super light so hardly any weight difference. Screen is super bright and the computing power is fast. I’m a mac/apple user, but found that it seems to be seamlessly and quickly connecting to my iphone 15. I ordered an electronic pen for writing notes, and the size of this seems perfect for it.
